Present Research Topics

Flow and transport of tracer and reactive compounds during bank filtration and artificial groundwater recharge:

  • Identification of subsurface flow structures with the help of mathematical models;
  • Transport modeling of phages and algae toxins in soil columns;
  • Management tools for bank filtration systems.

Watershed hydrology:

  • Linking surface and subsurface compartments in watershed models;
  • Conceptual and compartment models for watersheds in the lowland areas of Germany;
  • Water and mass balances in catchments: using chloride and temperature measurements for estimating the subsurface components.

Urban hydrology:

  • Dynamics of subsurface watersheds in urban areas caused by water management;
  • Methods for estimating groundwater recharge in urban areas.

Aufgabenstellung

Wasserhaushaltsuntersuchungen Lietzengraben
