Centre for Sustainable Landscape Development (ZfNL)

The Centre for Sustainable Landscape Development is a joint initiative between the Brandenburg University of Technology Cottbus-Senftenberg (BTU), the German Research Centre for Geosciences (GFZ) in Potsdam and IGB. The centre, launched in 2015, combines interdisciplinary expertise and research infrastructures at the Cottbus site. The partners share existing knowledge and infrastructures in order to develop options and recommendations for actors and decision-makers in regions marked by mining. The thematic specialisations focus on issues related to geotechnical engineering, soil technology and fertility, water management and freshwater ecology, ecosystems, and land development and land use.
