Berlin MueggelseeThe institute is located in the south east of Berlin. The main building at Mueggelseedamm 310 and the Rieseler building at Mueggelseedamm 301 are situated adjacent to Berlin's historic waterworks buildings, on the north shore of Berlin's largest lake, the Mueggelsee.
NeuglobsowIn 1992 the Limnological Research Station "Lake Stechlin", which was founded by the German Academy of Sciences of Berlin in 1959, became part of the IGB under the name "Department of Experimental Limnology".
Situated right on the waterfront of Lake Stechlin in Neuglobsow, the research station houses office and laboratory rooms. The nearby guesthouse "Alte Schule" offers accomodation for guest scientists and students.
