The "Handbook of European Freshwater Fishes" has managed to be among the hundred most cited fish and fischeries references.  Jörg Freyhof, IGB scientiest and co-author of the book, is visibly pleased with the award. Freyhof is currently working in the IGB Department "Biology and Ecology of Fishes" in the interdisciplinary research group "Ecological Potential of Urban Waters". The complete ranking of the most quoted fishing equilibrium is available online.
