In this scientific network, we are investigating social-ecological networks in urban areas in an international and interdisciplinary team over a period of three years.

Restore4Life showcases the remarkable socio-economic benefits derived from a comprehensive and interdisciplinary approach to restoring freshwater and coastal wetlands in the Danube basin. By creating new blue-green infrastructure that bolsters regional climate change resilience and mitigation efforts, Restore4Life paves the way for a sustainable future.

LILA (Lake Issyk-Kul Environmental Laboratory)

Multidisciplinary studies on the conditions leading to the mass development of toxic algae in the Odra river and on the occurred population losses of aquatic organisms and their regeneration, as well as on the strengthening of resilience, ecosystem services and development scenarios for the coupled river-floodplain ecosystem.

DANUBE4all will advance existing and develop new digital tools, Citizen Science and technical restoration measures to support fresh and transitional water ecosystem restoration.

Defining a safe operating space (SOS) for water resources in a changing climate and society is urgently needed to ensure a sufficient and reliable supply of water of a quality acceptable for human activity and natural ecosystems over the coming decades.

The Panama Canal connects the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans and is an important hotspot for aquatic invasions in the Western Hemisphere. This project intends to understand better fish invasion dynamics in this major canal after its expansion in 2016.

Water-ForCE will bring together experts on water quality and quantity, in policy, research, engineering and service sectors to develop a Roadmap for the water component for the future Copernicus services.
