The overall aim of REFORM is to provide a framework for improving the success of hydromorphological restoration measures to reach, in a cost-effective manner, target ecological status or potential of rivers.

The SMART Joint Doctorate focuses on the core areas of natural and engineering sciences relevant to the sustainable management of river systems from their headwaters to estuaries. SMART aims to provide education and research at PhD level by offering a 3-year programme within the Erasmus Mundus action. It adopts a multidisciplinary, multi-scale approach that integrates relevant aspects of the physical, chemical and biological sciences, including relevant theory, monitoring and modelling.

International research network on the impact of artificial illumination on nature and society

Through case studies we find out how exfiltration patterns of nutrients work and identify the relevant hydrobiological and biogeochemical mechanisms at the interface aquifer-lake.

Effects of terrestrial organic carbon inputs on food webs and resilience of shallow lakes
