Rush of visitors at IGB
Summer recess - no way! We are delighted with the enormous interest in our research: During the last three weeks over 1000 people came to meet us and to catch up on what we do at IGB.

The "Langer Tag der StadtNatur" in Berlin and the open day at IGB Stechlin attracted about 800 people. Furthermore, students from the University of Montpellier in France and of the TU Berlin went on  excursions to IGB Berlin. The RBB produced a facebook broadcast about biodiversity in freshwaters and interviewed the doctoral students Franziska Kupprat and Christin Höhne. The television channel Arte had a shoot at LakeLab Stechlin. The work group "Energy"  of Berlin visited the aquaponics system "Tomatofish" with Professor Werner Kloas and two school classes joined  IGB-scientist Jörn Gessner to release little sturgeons into the river Oder. Mark Gessner was invited as an expert to a hearing of the Berlin House of Representatives. We thank all members of IGB and all guests for the interesting discussions!
