Sinks, links and legacies of novel ecosystems in rewetted fen landscapes.

The Water Resources Award supports the development of innovative measurement and modelling approaches to improve drought prediction and assessments of water availability. International collaboration and a workshop dedicated to this subject will advance adaptive modelling concepts and lay the foundation for 'water-smart' land use and water resources planning.

The project leaders aim to investigate whether pond ecosystems become more resilient through evolutionary or microbiome-mediated adaptation of water fleas (Daphnia) to urban pollution.

The “GeoFRESH” online platform will allow high-resolution geospatial queries of the global hydrographic network, and enables users to download analysis-ready environmental data.
