Deutscher Naturschutztag 2026

We showcase our freshwater research in the exhibition area.

The topics we will cover at the stand are:

  • Vertical Wetlands: Even on unnatural and artificial waterways, modular planting systems can be used to create microhabitats. These scalable modules promote biodiversity and serve as ecological stepping stones for various species.
  • POUNDER: Can water fleas adapt to urban pollutants and thus help stabilise Berlin's small bodies of water? What role do microorganisms play in this process? The POUNDER project, funded by the Leibniz Association, is investigating these questions.
  • Biodiversity data: We will be showcasing the new biodiversity data portal and providing an overview of our long-term datasets.
  • Raccoon Rampage: How do invasive species influence biodiversity and society, and which management measures are effective? The game 'Raccoon Rampage' provides scientifically sound answers using raccoons as an example.
We look forward to your visit!
