River Revitalisation

Research group of Christian Wolter

Our research focuses on the diversity, conservation, functional dynamics and macroecology of fish assemblages in particular of large rivers, waterways and urban waters. Therewith, we provide the scientific basis for the spatio-temporally dynamic and functional understanding of the structure of fish assemblages, but also for numerous applied research questions such as the protection of fish diversity, the fish based assessment of waters, Red Lists assessments, and the revitalization of rivers as well as the restoration of the Atlantic sturgeons in Germany.
